In 2019, the Schoharie Region will be sponsoring two mission trips.

On August 11-17, a team will be heading back down to Red Bird Mission's Workcamp program.  During this week, teams are matched with projects that suit their skill levels, usually working in an area of need on the campus of the mission or out in the community on home repair.  The cost for the week is $375.  Participants will need to pay their own way, although a scholarship fund is available.  A deposit of $50 is due by March 31 to reserve your spot.  Learn more about Red Bird Mission Workcamp and see what our team did last year.    If you are interested in going, please be in touch with Pastor Jan Lacey-Markle who is organizing this year's trip.

On August 25-31, a team will be heading for the first time to United Methodist Economic Ministries in Salem, Maine.  Like Red Bird, this site serves a very impoverished region of the Appalachians.  Our team will be matched with needed projects around the mission campus or in the community.  We are still working on the cost figures for this trip, but it will likely be comparable to the Red Bird cost.  Scholarships will be available.  Learn more about United Methodist Economic Ministries and be contact with Pastor Anna or Lyndia Hauser if you are interested in joining the team.
